Community Builder and Forum

The main feature of our membership website are:

  • User profiles with Community Builder
  • Subscriptions with CB Subscriptions
  • Forum with Fireboard

Let's take a brief look at these.

User profiles with Community Builder

Community builder is an extension that changes the registration process of your site. It allows a richer process and can include user-related features, such as user profiles, user fields and lists.

When you create your membership site, you will need to adjust the configuration of Community Builder to fit your needs. This includes adjusting the welcome emails and your own email in the settings.

As mentioned, a key part of Community Builder is the use of extra fields. You can add/create your own based on what type of membership site you are. For example, if your site is about films, you could have a field for "favorite film star".

Subscriptions with CB Subscriptions

The key part of our membership site is our subscription plugin. All the plugin's available in Community Builder are show in the CB Plugin Manger. The Subscription plugin is towards the end of that list.

Clicking on the plugin shows the Payments Center where we can create plans, set up gateways and view subscribers.

Forum with Fireboard

The forum included in the membership site is Fireboard. It allows you to build support and community discussion around the content of your site. Once your forum is set up in the backend, almost all of the ongoing maintenance and moderation is done through the front end when you have logged into your site as your admin account.
