Better Offline Pages with Mailchimp

When you are starting a new small business, you are going to need a new website. But sometimes it's not easy to have one ready and you need a landing page. In Joomla, this is called the "Offline Page".

A recent Simplweb customer, Waterbury Vet Hospital, needed an offline page, but also wanted to customize it a little, and include an email newsletter sign up. Fortunately, the solution was easy

In the template files for their site, we added a copy of the offline template page that Joomla uses (offline.php). This meant that the site would use this rather than the default version. To that file, we added a module position, and were now able to add extra logo's, custom HTML, and a MailChimp email sign up form.

Now the page looks better, has some targeted SEO content to start the site on the process of getting ranked in Google and can start building a customer list for when the site and new business launches!
